If
you're a brand-new chess player, we meet with you personally and
can usually have you playing the game in a very short time. Once
you learn the basics, we teach you how to think ahead and see your
opponent's plans, so you can form appropriate strategies. You'll
learn to spot tactical weaknesses in your opponent's positions and
exploit them. We also will give you an overview of tournament rules,
as well as how to keep score and study correctly.
If you already know how to playchess
and are looking to improve, we can help you do that too!

Individual
online chess lessons
Online chess
instruction is a great way to learn to chess from the comfort of
your own home. There are two ways to take an online chess lesson.
The first way requires that you have a computer and one of
the following: DSL or cable modem or
two phone lines (so you and the instructor can be online and on
the phone at the same time).

Group chess
instruction is the same as it would be for individuals, except that
participants will be combined with others who are at approximately
the same playing level or who want to improve in the same areas
(e.g., openings, middle- or end-game play, tactics, etc.).
